Class Description: Believable characters – where do we begin? Legendary acting teacher Uta Hagen says to start with yourself, and provides a roadmap: The Nine Questions. Using four of her Object Exercises, we’ll explore answering these questions in order to create the specificity of a fully fleshed-out human with a reason behind everything we do.
In this class, you will:
Examine your own behavior in self-taped “object exercises”
Deepen moment to moment specificity in slices of life starting with the “written assignment” format
Sharpen awareness of your environment by transferring your work from a private space to a virtual space in live redirects
Explore how these principles are directly applicable to scripted material
